Although a 'town' school on the North Eastern side of Ipswich we have extensive grounds of some 6.5 acres including 2 playgrounds, 2 playing fields, a conservation area and a swimming pool. The school actually stands in Victory Road built on the site of Roundwood House, which was owned by Vice Admiral Horatio Nelson from 1795 - 1800.
At St John's we aim to create a happy orderly atmosphere where the Christian ethos is central to all we do. A great emphasis is put on politeness, respect and consideration for others and care for our environment.
Our excellent teaching staff is ably supported by classroom assistants who work together to provide a broad and balanced curriculum which all may access. We pride ourselves on high academic standards and our SATS results speak for themselves.
